Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre (VASCSC), established in 1966 by the visionary Indian scientist, Dr. Vikram A Sarabhai, stands as a pioneering institution dedicated to fostering scientific thinking and innovative science education. Dr. Sarabhai, widely recognized as the Father of the Indian Space Programme, founded this centre with a vision to cultivate a deeper understanding of fundamental scientific concepts among students, educators, and the general public through engaging inquiry-based methods.

Embracing Education Transformation

With a firm commitment to the principles of the New Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) and the recently introduced National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023 (NCF), VASCSC has extended its reach to integrate a comprehensive Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) approach. This expansion aims to foster the holistic development of students, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

Over the years, the Centre has combined formal and non-formal techniques of education to formulate many innovative methods for a better understanding Science & Mathematics.

EY STEM Program for Girls
With support from EY Foundation, VASCSC has been conducting Outreach Programme for girls students to experience an innovative gamified mobile platform that aims to identify, inspire, and empower them with career choices in STEM. The school also receives a STEM Learning Pack that can be useful for conducting STEM activities in the classroom.
WAAH Community Science Centre
With support from WAAH Foundation , Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre (VASCSC) sets up 15 WAAH Community Science Centres (WCSC). VASCSC looks forward to setting up more WCSCs that are already in the planning phase.
Joy of Science - Mobile Science Lab & Exploratory
'Joy of Science - Mobile Science Lab & Exploratory' (MSL) is a unique lab-on-wheels which aims to take the lab experience to underprivileged children, right in their school premises. Students got opportunity for hands-on learning which would be helpful in understanding difficult concepts with fun and ease. With support from NCSTC, Dept. of Science and Technology, the Centre initiated MSL to reach out to schools in Gujarat, especially those having no or very little access to laboratory facilities. The project was successful with participation of 77000+ students and 2800+ teachers from 340+ upper primary and secondary schools. The vehicle used for the Mobile Lab was procured from grant by KHS Machinery.
STEM for Girls
Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre (VASCSC) offered STEM workshops in emerging technology for schools in and around Ahmedabad, catering to underprivileged girl students. This initiative is selected as a part of the Intel Involved-Social Initiative Contest 2022-2023.
STEM Education for All
With support from Kostwein India (KICPL), VASCSC offered 20 STEM workshops for children from underprivileged background.
Promoting STEM Hands-on Learning in Schools of Gujarat
With support from TIPL (Truetzschler) India, VASCSC offers 12 Teachers Training Workshops, 60 STEM Outreach Schools and 50 School Group Visits at VASCSC.
Teacher Training Workshops for JNV ATL Schools
In collaboration with AIF, VASCSC, as a Technical Partner conducted 6-days online Teachers Training workshop for 115 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) to build the capacity of the teachers for setting up their School Atal Tinkering Lab. 218 teachers from 15 states participated in the training.
